Frequently Asked Questions
How long does Polestar key programming take?
Most Polestar smart-key adds are 30–60 minutes on the spot. AKL (lost all keys) is 60–120 minutes including security wait. Specialty platforms (newer UWB, dealer-software-only) may need 90 min.
Do you have OEM keys, or aftermarket?
Both. Aftermarket fobs work identically and save 30–40% — covered by our 90-day workmanship warranty. OEM (Original Polestar) keys cost more but match the original part number; pick on the quote screen.
What do I need to bring?
Photo ID + proof of vehicle ownership (registration / insurance card / Ontario vehicle permit). For AKL we also need VIN photo. The vehicle itself for spare key + AKL; just the fob for battery / repair.
Is there a warranty?
Yes — 90-day warranty on all programming and key cuts. If a key we made stops working in 90 days, we re-program or replace at no charge.
