HERO
Need a tracker installed properly? We do that too.
If you own a vehicle and want anti-theft, fleet management, or family-safety tracking — we install it the way it should be done. Professionally concealed, properly documented, fully consented.
We are the same team that removes the substandard installs. That makes us the only operator in the GTA that actually meets the published professional standard for vehicle tracker installation.

THE ONLY OPERATOR APPLYING A PUBLISHED INSTALLER STANDARD IN THE GTA
Fob Experts authored and publishes the GTA Tracker Installer Certification Standard v1.0 — the first publicly documented professional craft requirements for vehicle tracker installation in Canada. We are the issuing authority, not a participant in someone else’s standard.

|---|---|---|
| Written consent declaration on file | Required — original archived 7 years | None |
| Concealment quality benchmark | Grade B minimum (survives 90-second TSCM sweep by certified examiner) | Grade F (detected in under 60 seconds) |

| Device certification | Verified-Consent Vendor Program hardware only | Off-label industrial wireless monitoring hardware (no automotive certification) |
| Installer training | Required examination + practical assessment | None |
| Documentation provided to client | Install summary, device serial, subscription registered in client’s name, removal-on-demand contract | None |
| Warranty | 30-day install + 1-year concealment guarantee | None |
| Legal posture for client | Documented consent eliminates Code s. 184 / s. 264 / s. 430 liability | Client carries criminal liability for undisclosed install |
| Annual concealment audit | Included | None |
| Price | $249–$799 | $800–$1,800 |
Lower price. Higher standard. Legal-by-design. There is no other Canadian operator currently delivering this combination.

WHAT EVERY INSTALL INCLUDES
- ✅ Written, signed consent declaration filed (we store the original)
- ✅ Photo documentation of installation location
- ✅ Device serial + IMEI + subscription tied to your billing (not ours)
- ✅ Concealment that survives — automotive-grade bonding, sealed cavities, proper RF discipline
- ✅ Removable on demand, no residue, no vehicle damage
- ✅ 30-day install warranty + 1-year concealment guarantee
WHAT WE DON’T DO
- ❌ No install without owner consent. Period. We ask for ID. We ask for vehicle registration. We file a written declaration.
- ❌ No install on someone else’s vehicle. Even if you’re married to them. Even if you co-signed the loan. The vehicle owner of record signs, or we don’t install.
- ❌ No anonymous installs. Your name is on the file. The device’s subscription is in your name. We won’t hide install records.
That’s not a limitation — it’s our liability shield. And it’s why our installs hold up in court when amateur installs blow up custody hearings.
WHY OUR INSTALLS SURVIVE WHEN THEIRS DON’T
| Element | Sloppy install (typical) | Fob Experts install |
|---|---|---|
| Concealment | Magnetic to undercarriage, AirTag taped to wheel well | RF-shielded cavity, factory harness path, thermal-mitigated |
| Power | OBD plug or cheap tap-connector splice | Automotive-grade harness integration, dedicated fuse |
| Detection time by a competitor | Under 60 seconds | Designed by the sweep team — survives our own methods |
| Documentation | None | Chain-of-custody file, court-admissible |
| Warranty | None | 30-day install + 1-year concealment |
| Legal exposure | Criminal liability if no consent | Zero — consent is documented |
| If found in court | Device evidence used against you | File evidence defends you |
| Cost | $800–$1,500 | $249–$799 |
Lower price. Higher quality. Legal-by-design.
WHO BOOKS PROFESSIONAL INSTALLS
- Fleet operators — delivery, contractor, trades, taxi, service companies (5–500 vehicle fleets)
- Personal anti-theft — owners of higher-value vehicles wanting recovery insurance
- Family safety — parents with teen drivers, divorced parents, eldercare situations
- Asset protection — trailers, boats, heavy equipment, motorcycle (motorcycle work via our partner network)
- Insurance-discount qualifying — some Ontario insurers offer discounts for documented tracker installs
- Custody-context — court-ordered or mutually-agreed tracking in family-law proceedings
DEVICES WE CARRY
We work with verified-consent vendors only. Currently supported product families:
- Otodata TAGL3 (903 MHz FHSS, 5–10 year battery, ideal for assets without continuous monitoring) — partnership pending
- Bouncie OBD-II (cellular, fleet-grade) — for fleet use, with driver disclosure
- LandAirSea 54 (magnetic GPS, cellular) — consumer asset protection only
- More vendors added as they sign verified-consent agreements
The vendors we won’t carry: those who sell to anonymous buyers, don’t require ownership verification, or market products primarily on covert-install marketing copy.
INSTALLER CERTIFICATION (Industry standards)
Fob Experts is establishing the GTA Tracker Installer Certification Standard — the first publicly documented craft requirements for legitimate vehicle tracker installation in Ontario.
Standards include: – Consent verification protocol (ID + registration + written declaration) – Concealment quality benchmarks (must survive 90-second TSCM sweep by certified examiner) – Power integration standards (no consumer tap connectors) – Documentation requirements (photos, serials, chain-of-custody) – Removal-on-demand contract terms
Installers can apply for certification: []
Certified installers are listed publicly. Their installs come with the Fob Experts seal — meaning the customer has a court-defensible install file from day one.

FAQ
Will my install be findable by a TSCM sweep? Honestly? A determined professional sweep with calibrated equipment can find any active RF device. Our installs are designed to be hard to find — but if your concern is “what if my spouse hires a sweep team,” talk to us about whether a tracker is the right tool for your situation. Sometimes alarm systems or insurance recovery devices are better fit.
Why do you require my name on the install file? Legal protection. If your tracker is ever found and challenged, you walk in with documented consent. Without that, the device itself can be used as evidence against you (Criminal Code s. 264, s. 184, s. 430).
What if I want to install on my spouse’s vehicle? We won’t do that unless your spouse signs the consent declaration. If they won’t sign, we won’t install. If you proceed without their consent through another installer, you’re exposing yourself to criminal harassment charges — and the device, when found, will be the evidence against you.
Can I install on a teen driver’s vehicle? Yes, with the teen’s signed acknowledgment. Family courts in Ontario have ruled that minors’ awareness of tracking in shared family vehicles is reasonable. Without their acknowledgment, you risk a different conversation.
What’s the install life? Devices vary. Battery devices (Otodata TAGL3 family): 5–10 years. Hardwired: limited by the vehicle’s life. We service all our installs annually.
Can you also do a sweep on my vehicle to see if anything is on there now? Yes — that’s our other service. Book a sweep →

Editorial Policy + Partnership Statement
Documentation on this page is sourced from public FCC and ISED filings, manufacturer marketing materials, retailer product pages, and Fob Experts' own sweep recovery photos and field notes. We do not publish material that is private, leaked, or sourced through any unauthorized means.
We do not accept payment — in cash, credit, hardware, advertising, or any other form — to remove documentation about specific products, manufacturers, or retailers. Editorial independence is non-negotiable.
Verified-Consent Vendor Program: Manufacturers and retailers who adopt a verified-consent buyer process — where buyers self-attest in writing that they are installing on their own vehicle — are eligible to have their documentation moved to a Verified-Consent Vendor archive with a partner badge. This is a structural change they adopt, not a transaction.
Factual corrections are accepted in writing from manufacturers and retailers. Verified corrections are published with a dated correction note. Submit corrections to .
Legal threats do not change editorial outcomes. The remedy for inaccurate documentation is a verified correction, not removal under threat.
Law-enforcement coordination: Fob Experts has extended a formal standing offer of coordination to Durham Regional Police Service and other GTA agencies. If a sweep recovers a device bearing active law-enforcement authorization markings or court-warrant identifiers, removal is paused and the agency is contacted for verification before work continues. Customer right to inspect their own vehicle remains intact at all times. Full statement →
